When Thesis 2.0 is released, the price of the Developer’s Option will increase from $164 to $297. So too will the cost to upgrade to the Developer’s Option. As indicated on the DIY Themes plans and pricing page, point #4 states:
Under the current pricing structure, you can upgrade to the Developer’s Option for only $77. However, once Thesis 2.0 hits the market, the upgrade price will increase—yet another reason why it pays to go ahead and get a Developer’s Option!
This is a compelling reason to purchase the Developer’s Option immediately to save yourself some cash, before Thesis 2.0 hits the market. If you already own Thesis, consider upgrading before the increase.
What’s The Difference Between The Developer’s and Personal Options?
If you’re already using Thesis, you have most likely realized what an awesome WordPress theme framework it is. Chances are high that you will want to use it on more than just one of your blogs. Although there are numerous additional benefits to the Thesis Developer’s Option, over the Personal Option, the biggest one is that you get to install it on an unlimited number of your own blogs.

When Is Thesis 2.0 Being Released, and What New Features Will It Have?
As far as I can tell, there is no official release date for Thesis 2.0. All I can guess is that it will be around the third quarter of 2010. Maybe sooner than later, because I’ve noticed DIY Themes has been running Google adwords ads referencing Thesis 2.0. And what new features will the new Thesis 2.0 have? Well, I’m not one to create wild speculation, because there doesn’t seem to be any official word on what some of the updates will include. There is some talk of a graphical design interface, and Brian Clark, co-founder of DIY Themes, says on his copyblogger.com blog that Thesis 2.0 will be a “complete next generation approach to an already innovative theme.”
