Thesis 1.x Notice: Thanks for reading this post! So, here's the deal. I wanted you to be aware that this post was written prior to the release of Thesis 2. So that means the instructions or other information provided applies specifically to Thesis 1.x and not the latest 2.x version. Thanks!

Why am I surprised that something would break in the latest and ‘greatest’ version of Internet Explorer. I haven’t spent much time studying the new browser but recently got around to updating to it for web design purposes. I’d like to just expect IE9 to render websites correctly but being a web designer, you can’t leave things like that to chance.

Are you using Cufon on any of your sites?

If so, and you’re running a version of Cufon pre 1.09i, then none of your custom fonts will show up in IE9. I’m not referring to just the custom font not showing, I mean all the text that you use cufon for, will not display in IE9.

There are a few fixes but this is what worked for me. Just update to the latest version of Cufon and you’ll be fine. Further resources and reading are listed below, along with a link to a post where the IE program manager explains the reason for this in one of the comments.
