I came across this video of Chris Pearson speaking at Audience 2010 over at 1938media.com. I wanted to share it here on the blog because he made some thought provoking statements and observations. I’ll let you watch it for yourself, but his message is that if we want to become remarkable, and achieve some amazing things in our lives, we can’t look at all the reasons why we can’t do something, but rather we should focus more on what we want to achieve and go after that.
Chris talks about something called “limiting behavioral filters” which can be formed at childhood and carried through our adult years, and which can severely limit our success because they direct how we respond to things in life. I could relate to what he was saying because I know I have some of this negative preconditioning that started as a child and my subconscious still brings up these events in my decision making process. The challenge is to push through these thoughts and do things differently. For me the best message I got out of this is to challenge what we think we know and to not allow these limiting filters to prevent us from being remarkable.
The sound gets bad towards the end, so you’ll have to crank up your volume, but you’ll get the idea. Also, you can’t hear the questions, but it’s really just the message I wanted to share. Let us have your thoughts in the comments.
